On Friday 20th January, UNISON Black Members group kindly invited Show Racism the Red Card Scotland along to attend the Unison Black Members Conference in Edinburgh.This was the first time the event has been held in person since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and it offered us an opportunity to meet and talk to committed union members and activists from across the UK.

On Thursday 19th January, Show Racism the Red Card Scotland visited the Mitchell Library in Glasgow to deliver anti-racism workshops to Scottish librarians.

The first event of the new year was one local to us in our North-East office. The campaign team paid a visit to the Vertu Motors Arena for the first educational event in our history with the Newcastle Eagles basketball team. It has been great working alongside the Newcastle Eagles Foundation, they are rooted in their local community and deliver vital work throughout the city.

The North Shields office of Stowe Family Law Show Racism the Red Card by donating £600 to our charity to continue our decades of anti-racism work.

Chris Kamara, a long standing patron of ours, has been awarded an MBE in King Charles’ New Year’s honours for services to football, charity and anti-racism thanks to his work in supporting Show Racism the Red Card and Marie Curie.

It’s that time of year again. That time where I wonder how time flies, where the year has gone, and reflect on all that the last 12 months has given us.

During November and December, Show Racism the Red Card Wales has supported Cardiff Women’s Aid, delivering full day training sessions to staff members across the organisation.

The North East of England African Community Association (NEEACA), founded in 1997, is a long-standing united body for all Africans, those of African descent and those committed to the well-being of Africa and Africans. Working with other voluntary groups, local authorities and government agencies.

Thanks to Newcastle United for Showing Racism the Red Card 22/23 season. NUFC our longest partners now 27 years of support and we look forward to our event at St James’ Park next year.

Show Racism the Red Card are delighted to announce that the school creative competition is back for 2023, this year we want to make it bigger and better.

Show Racism The Red Card (Southern Region) and The Evolvolution Initiative delivered a virtual and international cultural workshop between Highgate Wood School located in London, England and Bedford Academy located in Brooklyn, New York.

Swansea, Wales (November 2022) – Through Welsh Governments FIFA World Cup 2022 – Partner Support Fund Show Racism the Red Card have created World Cup themed anti-racism educational resources for pupils to engage with in classrooms across Wales. The resources are accompanied with a teacher’s pack providing delivery notes and conversations to support teachers to provide high quality anti-racism education sharing the anti-racism message.
