Anti-Racism in Scottish Youth Football with SYFA club coaches and CWPOs.

SRtRC Scotland were delighted to visit Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie on 3rd May 2023 to deliver anti-racism education to Coaches, Child Wellbeing and Protection Officers, and other Club Officials from SYFA member clubs operating within the local area.

Brunel Academy Shows Racism the Red Card!

Staff and students at Bristol Brunel Academy showed racism the red card at a whole school event. Staff and students were encouraged to wear something red in support of this initiative and raise funds for SRtRC!

Arsenal Show Racism the Red Card

On March 30th, 2023, an anti-racism educational event was delivered by Show Racism The Red Card in partnership with Arsenal in the community at The Emirates stadium, home of Arsenal football club.

Leaders of Now Share Their Successes

Show Racism the Red Card Wales proudly welcomed 25 Leaders of Now from four of our five ambassador schools, alongside esteemed guests such as North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, Andy Dunbobbin and representatives from the Children’s commissioner for Wales’ office and Denbighshire and Conwy Councils, amongst others, at a fantastic share and celebrate event in St George’s Hotel, Llandudno.

Website launch for African Lives in Northern England

This week sees the launch of a website to bring together the research and multiple projects which have taken place to tell the vastly untold stories of African lives in the Northern England. A celebratory event was held at TW Archives inviting many of the collaborators and members of the public to showcase the completed work. Show Racism the Red Card were honoured to attend the event and meet all of those involved.

Earlier this week, SRtRC President Shaka Hislop, spoke with final year sports media students at Northumbria University, drawing from his experience as a former professional premier league football player and currently an ESPN football pundit and analyst, based in the U.S.

Stephen Lawrence Day 2023

On 22 April 1993, at the age of just 18, Stephen Lawrence was murdered in an unprovoked racist attack. This incident and the ensuing campaign for justice led by his parents, became a landmark moment in the history of British race relations.

The Harrogate Conference Centre once again saw a huge turn out from the 3rd to the 6th of April for the NEU Union Conference.

SRtRC North East Region: Developing Your Anti-Racist Teaching Practice.

Our team held our first anti-racism CPD day for teachers in the North East at the end of March and it was a real success! We invited teachers and educators from across the region to take part in a day full of important discussions.
