Winners of the School Competition in England 2025

Show Racism the Red Card School Competition, Nottingham Forest Stadium - 2May25

Last Friday, 2nd May 2025, we hosted the prestigious Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) School Competition for England Awards Ceremony at Nottingham Forest FC!

This year, a record 540 schools participated, with over 25,000 young people taking part! While the artwork was powerful and inspiring, the creative writing submissions truly stood out – their quality was extraordinary.

The best part?

Seeing first hand the talent, insight and passion of our young participants. Their voices not only restore hope but also remind us that a future built on unity, respect and justice is not just possible – it’s within our grasp.

The Awards kicked off with incredible entertainment – a DJ workshop by Noise Academy and a dazzling performance from professional football freestyler Mr. Silky Skills.

It was an inspiring celebration of the winners’ achievements, with awards presented by Sky News’ Johnny Phillips and TV presenter Ben Cajee. We were also honoured to welcome special guests Wes Morgan, Frank Clark, Jason Lee, Viv Anderson, Naomi Bedeau and many more.

And now… the moment you’ve all been waiting for – the winners of the SRtRC School Competition 2025 in England are…

Emma Rose, Warwickshire NEU District Secretary, shares her reflection on the ceremony:

“The Show Racism the Red Card’s School Competition Awards Ceremony, with its celebration of the work that the children and young people involved in the competition produced as well as focus on the core message of anti-racism, once again highlighted just how vital the charity’s work is.

In a world that at times feels increasingly divided, the power of giving children and young people space to explore what it means to be anti-racist, how we can demonstrate that in our everyday lives and why it matters so much, and then the freedom to be able to express those ideas in a way that’s meaningful to them cannot be underestimated. I was incredibly moved and impressed by the young people who received the awards and shared their work, and it was a real honour to speak to some of the award winners after the ceremony to hear about how taking part in the competition had made them feel less lonely and helped them feel part of a world where they were valued.

Young people aren’t just the future, they’re also the present, and empowering them to understand that they have a voice and then encouraging them to use that voice to effect positive change brings us closer to that world, with equality, social justice and anti-racism at its core, that we all want to live in.”

A huge thanks are due to this year’s School Competition sponsors:

  • The National Education Union
  • UNISON
  • Unite the Union
  • The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA)
  • Kickers
  • EA Sports
  • Potts Print UK
  • Valu Construction Limited
  • Usborne Books
  • Thompson’s Solicitors
  • The Football Association (FA)

A massive congratulations to all of our winners and a massive thank you to all the schools that participated in the SRtRC School Competition 2025.
