Training Yorkshire & Humber Prison Service

Our North West Manager Keziah and our North East Education Coordinator Justine have been out delivering a successful training programme, for the very first time, across 7 prisons in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

The aim of the programme is to empower participants with anti-racism knowledge and skills as well as to help them curate a 2 hour workshop, that they can confidently deliver to their members of staff. The programme covers a range of topics from defining race to facilitating difficult conversations around race and challenging racist behaviours.

All participants that completed our bespoke programme noted that they left the session feeling a lot more confident with the knowledge they acquired and felt confident that they could respond to racist incidents with the training they received.

Here are some comments that were left by the trainees:

“The training has been amazing, the trainers were very knowledgeable and approachable. They have given me the confidence to not only challenge racism but help other people”

“Justine and Keziah have changed my life!!!! My confidence has grown so much. And I will be forever grateful for you guys showing me that I can do it!!”
