Tackling Racism Together: A New Resource for Young People

For three decades, Show Racism the Red Card has been using education to challenge racism and promote inclusion across the UK. Through workshops, resources and training, we have worked with hundreds of thousands of young people to help build understanding and create more inclusive communities.

That commitment continues with the publication of Tackling Racism Together, a new anti-racism handbook for young people aged 9+, written by internationally acclaimed and award-winning author A.M. Dassu. The book was developed through a partnership between Words & Pictures, an imprint of The Quarto Group, and Show Racism the Red Card, bringing together a shared commitment to anti-racism education.

Through real-life stories, practical examples and engaging activities, Tackling Racism Together encourages young people to ask questions, develop empathy and think critically about the world around them. The book takes an honest yet hopeful approach, helping readers understand that meaningful change often begins with everyday actions rooted in kindness, respect and inclusion.

As Show Racism the Red Card marks our 30th Anniversary Year, we remain committed to providing young people, educators and families with resources that support anti-racism learning. We believe that education has a vital role to play in tackling prejudice and empowering future generations to stand up against racism in all its forms.
