#SRtRCSpotlight: Building Foundations with St Athanasius Primary School
This week, our Scottish education team worked with pupils at St. Athanasius Primary School.
Across two days, pupils from the upper school took part in our Foundational Anti-Racism Workshops. These workshops aim to supply pupils with knowledge of racism and its impacts while equipping them with tools to challenge and create a positive change. Throughout the workshops, the pupils engaged superbly, even adding to each session with their own knowledge and questions.
Mrs Marie Smith (P7 teacher) said of the day;
‘The workshop was a fantastic, thought-provoking experience. Through engaging and fun activities, the children gained a much deeper understanding of racism, prejudice and the impact this has on people/communities’
And a young learner who attended the workshop commented;
“I really enjoyed learning about different countries, we also got to play games that helped us to understand that everyone should be included and what to safely do if we see someone being racist. It was lots of fun.”
Thanks to all at @StAthsPrimary for welcoming us and helping us deliver such engaging sessions.
