On the 18th March 2023, Show Racism the Red Card was featured in the matchday programme for the Scotland vs Italy Six Nations match at Murrayfield Stadium to celebrate its million milestone and to publicise the developing partnership.
The piece recognises and celebrates our developing partnership with the Scottish Rugby Union as we deliver our anti-racism educational sessions with their players and staff. Our first session with the Edinburgh Rugby squad was successful and over the coming months we look forward to working with more players and staff from across the elite level of Scottish Rugby.
SRtRC: Scotland’s Chris Priestley who has managed the partnership with Scottish Rugby was understandably delighted with the efforts to make Scottish Rugby supporters aware of the charity and its important work within the game. He had this to say when we caught up with him earlier this week. “Active anti-racism is vital to ensure that sport and society are just and open to all. We are delighted to be working with Scottish Rugby to share our message with players, staff, and supporters.”
The article also shone a spotlight on one of Show Racism the Red Card’s newest player ambassadors, Andy Christie, who represents Scotland and plays for Saracens in the English Premiership. Upon becoming an ambassador, Andy said “Show Racism the Red Card is a charity that represents something very close to my heart and that I truly care about… I look forward to being part of taking this great charity even further.”
