The Scottish team have visited schools, football clubs and community groups amid hosting an anti-racism showcase for the 42 SPFL clubs and the Sports Minister this month.
SRtRC Scotland delivered in:
3 primary schools
2 secondary schools
4 community groups
2 football clubs
Working with a total of 675 people.
Following a busy January, the team prepared for the Showcase of our anti-racism education work in a bid to exhibit the benefits for Scottish football clubs.
Representatives of all 42 clubs were invited to attend and among the audience included Joe Fitzpatrick, Minister of Public Health, Sport and Wellbeing.
February also saw a hugely successful club event thanks to our partnership with Partick Thistle FC. Notable attendees included Anas Sarwar MSP, Gerry Britton, Manager Gary Caldwell and players Jo Cardle and Gary Harkins.
As part of our Refugee, Stereotypes and Prejudice workshops we visited schools, some Street League locations and were also able to deliver this programme to Heart of Midlothian’s academy. Hearts were thrilled by the fantastic sessions delivered by Derek and Dumie and were greatly appreciative of our time spent with them.
To top off a thrilling month, we were able to launch our partnership with RespectMe and Changing Faces for the Celebrating Difference campaign. The collaborative campaign employs the use of our Show Racism the Red Card resources as it seeks to tackle prejudice-based bullying in schools.
