SRtRC Scotland Creative Competition 2023 Launch

Show Racism the Red Card Scotland are proud to announce the launch of our Creative Competition 2023. Each year we invite schools from across the nation to produce anti-racism themed artwork in a range of mediums. This year in Scotland, our theme is Speak Out.

We are focusing on t-shirt designs, posters and visual arts, written and video submissions from across Primary and Secondary.

The artworks will then be shortlisted and then a panel of art and anti-racism experts will select winners from a range of categories. Those shortlisted will be invited along to an Awards Ceremony in early June with prize winners being announced. Last year’s Scotland Awards Ceremony took place at the home of Scottish football, Hampden Park.

This has long been one of the highlights of our calendar, running for over 23 years, it is the largest equalities themed competition in the UK with many thousands of young people from across the UK taking part. Entries each year come from a diverse pool of students producing a range of inspirational artwork that is used by SRtRC in a range of teaching materials, resources and across our social media, as well as in our annual calendar. This ensures that those young people taking part gain maximum exposure for their endeavours.

The competition is free to enter and open to all young people regardless of age or ability. To find out more about the competition, download our entry pack which features the rules, how to enter and a range of teaching tips to help facilitate discussions in the classroom about anti-racism.
