Show Racism the Red Card are excited to announce our Scottish School’s Showcase, a chance for schools across Scotland to produce anti-racism themed artworks in a range of genres, to be celebrated and displayed in an online gallery. This collaborative project aims to celebrate all pupils’ contributions and join together to use the Power of Our Voices for Change. We are proud to be launching this in partnership with the EIS.
The Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) is Scotland’s largest teaching union. The EIS is committed to the promotion of sound learning, rooted in equality. We oppose racism in all its forms, and advocate for educational establishments to be safe, inclusive environments for all children, young people and staff.
We invite children from Primary 1 to S6 to use their creativity and passion for race equality, social justice, and allyship to create artwork for our joint exhibition. We encourage pupils to:
- Draw or paint a picture
- Make a collage
- Write a poem or story
- Make a sculpture
- Make a video
- Take a photo
- Create digital art
Entries will be accepted from 18th August until 13th October 2023, please return to this website for further information and to submit your learners’ work. This website will also be updated with supplementary teaching resources to facilitate learner reflection and engagement.
To celebrate the range of submissions, some entries will be displayed at a showcase event in Glasgow, where learners will be invited to attend in person in the autumn term of 2023.
