Show Racism the Red Card stands in full solidarity with Jess Carter and the Lionesses following the vile and unacceptable racist abuse she has been subjected to online.

Jess is not only an outstanding footballer and role model but also a human being who deserves respect, dignity, and support – just like anyone else. Racism has no place in football, no place in sport, and no place in society.

We are deeply disappointed that, yet again, a player has had to endure such hatred, and we call on both the authorities and social media companies to take urgent and meaningful action. Words of condemnation are not enough – we need stronger enforcement, better monitoring, and real consequences for those who engage in racist abuse. Players should never have to face this kind of treatment for simply doing their job and representing their clubs and country with pride.

Show Racism the Red Card will continue to campaign for education, accountability, and change, but this must be a collective effort. We urge fans, footballing bodies, governments, and online platforms to stand with us and take a stronger stance against racism.
