The Scottish team have visited schools, football clubs and community groups amid hosting our Scottish Creative Competition Awards at Hampden Park with over 240 pupils and teachers there to support this year’s finalists.
SRtRC Scotland worked with:
23 primary schools
1 secondary school
5 community groups
2 football clubs
Working with a total of 570 young people.
Our Creative Competition Awards this year saw 246 pupils & teachers attend Hampden to cheer on their finalists. This was the 15th anniversary of the Scottish awards ceremony that is held at Hampden Park and was one of the biggest yet.
Hosted by Peter Martin from STV, special guests included Shelley Kerr, the Scotland Women’s team Head Coach who took time out her busy preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 in June to present the lucky winners with their prizes - along with stars from Rangers, Celtic, Partick Thistle, Airdrieonians, Albion Rovers, Glasgow City and Glasgow Girls.
On the back of this, Inverness Caledonian Thistle celebrated some of their local pupil’s creative anti-racism work by displaying them in their stadium.
March also saw a hugely successful club event thanks to our partnership with Arbroath FC. This allowed us to work with young people from the Angus region and, with Rab Douglas and chairman Mike Caird, we ensured they enjoyed a fantastic and insightful day.
As part of our Refugee, Stereotypes and Prejudice programme, our team worked with Academy players and their coaches at Celtic FC.
