NEU Annual Conference 2024

The National Education Union (NEU) held its Annual Conference at the Bournemouth International Centre from Wednesday 3rd April – Saturday 6th April which our southern team supported. Our stand within its exhibition centre was one of the most visited stands and teaching staff old and new wanted to speak to us about the work we do in schools. The highlight of the conference was having hundreds of delegates join us in the main hall for a photo, all raising our Red Cards showing support for our work.

We also held a fringe meeting on the final day, “Embedding Anti-Racism into the National Curriculum” where we were joined by inspiring and motivational speakers including our honorary President, Shaka Hislop, Roxanne Beckles (Educator for SRtRC Wales and winner of this years NEU Blair Peach Award), Beth Farhat (NEU Regional Secretary for the Northern Region), Valerie Bossman-Quarshie (Councillor for Islington, Teacher and Volunteer for SRtRC) and finally Paul Hill (Regional Manager and Educator for SRtRC).

A huge thank you to General Secretary Daniel Kebede, National President Emma Rose, Helen Watson and all at the NEU for an excellent conference!
