Huge support for our Wear Red Day event at the NEU Union Conference.

The Harrogate Conference Centre once again saw a huge turn out from the 3rd to the 6th of April for the NEU Union Conference.

With 1200 delegates it was a shoulder-to-shoulder event. As always, the NEU members stood in solidarity with Show Racism the Red Card to promote our Wear Red Day 2023 event.

It’s an incredible image, we’re sure you’ll agree.

Kevin Courtney, Joint General Secretary, NEU said “The National Education Union (NEU) is proud to be a long-standing supporter of Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC).

Our members know how important anti-racist education is and how diversity breathes life into our school communities.

While our members know that challenging misconceptions, stereotypes and negative attitudes isn’t just for one day a year, Wear Red Day provides a focal point for activities that use the popularity of football and other sports to spread a positive anti-racist message in our classrooms.

Mary and I wish you all the best for this year’s event – we know that our members love it and are signing up in their droves!

Be part of the SRtRC team! Show your true colours. Wear Red on 20 October!”

Kevin Courtney and Mary Bousted, joint general secretaries, NEU.

Wear Red Day 2023 will be held on Friday the 20th of October and with the help of our amazing friends at the NEU, it’s well on the way to being the biggest one yet
