Education Worker vacancy – East of Scotland (Part-Time)
Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) is the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity.
The aim of the organisation is to combat racism through delivering anti-racism education.
We are seeking to recruit an Education Worker to join our Scottish Team.
This is a part-time position (21 hours per week) and is for a fixed term for a period of up to 3 years.
We offer a flexible working hours policy and some remote/hybrid working.

NJC Pay Scale 3 – Points 5 – 6: £29,542 – £32,046 (pro-rata)
6% pension
The post primarily involves delivering programmes of anti-racism education to young people and adults at schools, community venues and workplaces across the East of Scotland, including Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Tayside. Some of this work will take place virtually using a variety of digital learning platforms.
The role may also include developing and delivering longer term education programmes for young people and adults and contributing to the organisation of anti-racism educational events.
Monitoring, recording, and reporting impact is a vital part of this role. Educators must be committed to gathering and recording participation stats in a GDPR compliant manner, tracking learning and contributing to written reports of this impact. Education Workers may, at times, be required to participate in both live and pre-recorded content that will appear on social media, as well as SRtRC’s platforms
Travel requirements
This role involves regular travel to deliver educational sessions at schools, community venues and workplaces across the East of Scotland, including Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Tayside. Applicants must be able to travel reliably to venues throughout this area and meet the role’s scheduling requirements. You will need to demonstrate:
- Strong commitment to anti-racism, a knowledge and understanding of racism, and a passion to fight inequality
- Experience of delivering educational activities
- Excellent facilitation skills and ability to engage diverse groups of participants
- Ability to develop new educational ideas and activities
- Ability to adapt to changing environments
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to meet specific deadlines and targets (as agreed with the SRtRC Scotland Manager)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent IT skills
- A firm commitment to active child protection and an active understanding of safeguarding and a determination to prioritise it as part of the role
- A firm commitment to educational inclusion, including a willingness to provide support and flexibility for those learners with additional support needs and reasonable adjustments
