On Monday 10th August, supporters of Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) came together across the North East to mark a significant milestone – 30 years of standing up to racism through the power of football. It was a day not just of reflection, but of reaffirmation, as players, patrons and partners united at Ramside Hall for a special 30th Anniversary Golf Day and Dinner.
SRtRC Patron Naomi Bedeau attended Usborne’s launch of their new book, Football Skills, on 6th June in Leicester. The event celebrated the latest edition of the book, co-authored by Katie Daynes and Simon Tudhope. SRtRC Campaign Coordinator, Richard Offiong, and Professional Footballer, Naomi Bedeau, supported the book’s development by advising on its content.
Earlier this month the North East Education Team completed a comprehensive programme of work with young people at Pallister Park Primary School in Middlesbrough.
We have witnessed SRtRC Wales’ Leaders of Now programme go from strength to strength as the third secondary cohort completed their year-long ambassador scheme – this time in Flintshire and Wrexham, thanks to funding from Flintshire Healthy Schools, Wrexham Healthy Schools, and North East Wales Community Cohesion teams.
This March saw Show Racism the Red Card Wales host their 4th annual community Iftars across South Wales.
