Black History Month event @ The Speaker’s Residence

We were honoured to have been invited as a partnering charity to Mr Speaker’s House at the Palace of Westminster on the 17th October celebrating Black History Month (this year’s theme being RECLAIMING NARRATIVES) with many inspiring individuals and like-minded organisations.

We were accompanied by some of our patrons and ambassadors Curtis Fleming, Mike Wilkinson, Stephen Cavalier, Valerie Bossman-Quarshie, Seema McArdle alongside Baroness Christine Blower, Foluke Akinlose MBE and Daniel Mills.

The Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP honoured the Mother of the House Diane Abbott and both made pertinent speeches about the contributions made by Black Britons, historically and today.

After the speeches we were treated to music by a Motown band and everyone had the opportunity to mingle and network sharing the work everyone does towards trying to eradicate racism in our society.
