A Letter to Educators
Dear Educators,
In light of the recent distressing events that are occurring across the country, we acknowledge the significant impact they may have on you, your students, and your wider community. During these challenging times, the need for robust anti-racism education is more crucial than ever.
At Show Racism the Red Card we recognise the complexity and difficulty when promoting anti-racism within educational settings, in teaching anti-racism, and we are committed to supporting you on your school’s anti-racism journey in a number of ways.
We have written several guidance documents, to help you manage the conversations and situations that might arise with learners when you return to school. A preview of these is below in the images. We are mindful that for schools in Scotland, return to school is next week, hence the urgency in sharing these now.
All of our teacher guidance to help with discussions and conversations arising out of this most distressing time, can be found on our free online Education Hub. www.theredcardhub.org
We are here to support educators in any ways we can, including:
* An extensive range of free specialist anti-racism resources on our Education Hub, which includes over 60 readymade lessons, videos, recommended reading lists, and blogs. These resources are designed to develop understanding and knowledge around anti-racist practice, and supporting your commitment to creating and fostering a more inclusive learning environment for all.
* Our education teams across the UK are here to provide any further specialist support you may need, including workshops for learners and training for teachers. https://lnkd.in/eR-ej9TH
* We have several free webinars planned for educators, details of which will be published on our socials in the coming weeks.
* Finally, please reach out with any enquiries or questions to info@theredcard.org
Thank you for your resilience, and your dedication to this important work. More than ever, it is crucial that we are united in our commitment to anti-racism and our mission for equality.
