Following our Scottish Creative Competition Awards, Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC came up with an exciting initiative to reward a local primary school for their anti-racism efforts.
The club’s community team have visited Crown Primary School on a number of occasions and have included surprise visits by players.
For Show Racism the Red Card’s Creative Competition, the pupils created bright, colourful posters with their own anti-racism messages. Inverness Caley’s community department then identified six of the most outstanding pieces.
The creators of the top 6 posters were rewarded with a tour of the Caledonian stadium, and they were able to meet Jamie McCart, Sean Welsh, Charlie Trafford, Tom Walsh and Daniel Mackay.
But that’s not all…
Using a local signage company, Inverness Caledonian Thistle have now had the posters blown up to A1 size, and two of them are currently on display in the large Home Fans’ Catering Area of the Caledonian Stadium. The other 4 will be put up at various locations around the stadium meaning the posters will be seen by thousands of people throughout next season.
A truly fantastic initiative by Caley Thistle. Thank you to all at the club.
