2019 has been designated UNISON’s Year of the Young Worker and we are working with Show Racism the Red Card to deliver our Young Ambassador Programme.
The course is open to all young members and runs for one day per week for 6 weeks from Tuesday 8th October until Saturday the 16th November. The course aims to take participants on a journey from challenging the myths around immigration and Islam to tackling racism and hate crime. Participants will be encouraged to build a political alternative to the undercurrent of hate through our political school at Redhills Miner’s Hall in Durham.
We will have refreshments for the Tuesday evening sessions and lunch will be provided on the Saturday sessions.
To celebrate our first session we will order pizza and all travel costs can be claimed back within UNISON’s travel expense policy.
The course will run on the following dates:
Tuesday 8th October 6-8pm Pilgrim Street, Newcastle
