After a summer spent reflecting on our practice, developing resources and planning projects, the team couldn’t be happier to take a fresh approach into our sessions. This month, the charity has delivered educational workshops in:
25 primary schools
3 secondary schools
Working with a total of 1994 young people.
This month, SRtRC Wales also delivered adult training for:
· Swansea Council’s Ethnic Minority Achievement Unit (EMAU), showcasing our work ahead of a new training offering for educators in the area.
· NASUWT Cymru members at the union’s annual Equality Conference.
The start to the new academic year has been a fantastic opportunity for the team to get out in front of teachers, safeguarding boards, local authority staff and union delegates to discuss our work. In September the team delivered twelve presentations of this nature and has made some useful connections as a result.
At the beginning of the month the team also received some training from The Association of Gypsy and Travellers in Wales. Thank you to Tom Tom and Rhiannon for supporting our development in such an insightful and useful day.
It’s been a busy and exciting start to the school year. Keep your eyes out for some interesting new project announcements in the next few weeks.
