Newcastle United Foundation have donated match tickets for 10 Newcastle United fixtures throughout the season in a further show of support for Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC).
The tickets will be given to young people taking part in anti-racism education sessions delivered by SRtRC, as well as to campaign supporters in recognition of their contributions to tackling racism.
The Newcastle United Foundation have been long-term partners of Show Racism the Red Card, and the club was the very first to back the campaign during its inception in 1992. Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Shaka Hislop was the first professional footballer to endorse the need for anti-racism education and is now the charity’s Honorary President.
Show Racism the Red Card are working together with Newcastle United Foundation to further develop the partnership and seek out new ways in which the two charities can support one another.
SRtRC would like to extend thanks to everyone involved in Newcastle United Foundation for their generous support. Football is a fantastic way of engaging young people for all backgrounds and the donation of tickets further demonstrates the Foundation’s commitment to tackle racism in society, alongside the club.
