We visited Bangor and Aberystwyth University to deliver our teacher training conference with PGCE secondary students.
Over 120 students participated in our teacher training conferences at their University as part of our Teachers of Tomorrow project funded by the National Union of Teachers.
Education Workers Ceri Nicolle, Noam Devey and Campaign Worker Jason Webber led the educational workshops over both days.
Workshops focussed on educating about prevalent topics in society such as Immigration and provided guidance for student teachers on reporting and challenging racism in the classroom, along with developing a whole school approach to embed anti-racism within the curriculum.
Students had the opportunity to participate in some examples of our educational resources used in our school workshops. After the conference the student teachers will be looking to utilize these resources when they become qualified teachers.
These conferences at Bangor and Aberystwyth capped off our training for this academic year, which has seen us deliver 8 conferences in Wales.
We would like to thank the NUT for their support for this project that has enabled us to deliver to hundreds of student teachers in Wales.
