Prime Minister encouraged guests to keep up their work challenging Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia
SRtRC were invited to attend a reception at Downing Street on Monday 16th May for the LGBT Community. The campaign has recently completed delivery of a year-long project challenging Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic bullying in schools.
Attendees included people SRtRC knew well from the Tackling HBT Bullying project, Elly Barnes (Educate Celebrate), Bernard and Terry (GIRES), Tony Fenwick (Schools Out UK), Shaun Dellenty (Inclusion for All) and Martin Mitchell (NATCEN). It was also a great opportunity to talk to other LGBT people, organisations and activists, John Amaechi, Chris Morgan, Lianne Sanderson, Rebecca Root and Ruth Hunt of Stonewall were just some of the other guests.
David Cameron spoke about the great work many are doing to challenge Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to challenge these forms of discrimination.
Show Racism the Red Card will shortly be releasing a promotional film about the campaign’s Tackling HBT Bullying project and we are looking forward to the forthcoming external evaluation report.
