Bastian Schweinsteiger, Juan Mata & Ander Herrera hold red cards with anti-racism messages in their native languages as part of coordinated anti-racism campaign
Three of Manchester United’s top international starts have become the latest players send an international anti-racism message and show their support for the Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) campaign.
Germany international midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and Spanish internationals Juan Mata and Ander Herrera have been photographed holding red cards with messages in German and Spanish respectively.
SRtRC’s famous red cards have been translated into 32 different languages as part of an ongoing partnership with FIFPro – the world players union, which aims to deliver a coordinated, world wide message rejecting racism, prejudice and discrimination.
The action involving the players is the latest show of support from Manchester United FC, who have back the campaign since its inception twenty years ago.
