Overview of educational work delivered by SRtRC Education teams
The North-East and South-East Education teams have been out and about delivering educational workshops throughout England during November.
The Show Racism the Red Card (England) Education teams worked to collectively deliver engaging and interactive workshops and events across England:
155 hours of workshop activities, excluding assemblies and fun fitness sessions
2,260 pupils participated
20 Primary Schools
8 Secondary or PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) Schools
In the North East, the Education team delivered a total of 29 workshops, over 55 hours to 550 young people, across the region in 6 Primary schools and 5 Secondary/Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) schools.
The North East team also delivered two conferences providing training to enable teachers to tackle HBT (Homophobic, Biphobic & Transphobic) bullying as well as two ‘Promoting Equality and Tackling Racism’ teacher training conferences in Middlesbrough. This teacher training totalled 144 adults during November.
In the Southern region, the Education team delivered 64 workshops, over 100 hours to a total 1710 students, across the southern region in 14 Primary schools and 3 Secondary schools.
In addition, the South East team visited Crystal Palace FC and Brighton FC to deliver educational events and facilitated two thought-provoking discussions at Selma with the Into Film Festival.
