Dundee United FC and Heart of Midlothian fixture part of series of FOA games
"As chair of the Management committee I was keen to observe at first hand the FOA in Scotland and as the televised game that weekend involved my beloved Heart of Midlothian it was too good an opportunity to miss.
"The game was at Tannadice the home of Dundee United and our host was one of the directors of the club, Colin Stewart. From the moment we arrived, the club could not do enough for us, we were given access to all areas including pitch side before and after the game allowing us to get some great photos of the warm up with the players wearing our SRTRC T Shirts and introductions to other directors and dignitaries which gave us a chance to promote our work.
"Everywhere you looked it was clear this was a SRTRC game, a fabulous 2 page spread in the programme, all the players match kits carried our logo, the Stewards all wore our badges, the ball boys and girls wore our T Shirts and wristbands were handed out to as many people as possible. It took me till 20 minutes into the game to realise but the Referee and his assistants were also bedecked with the logo. It was a fantastic effort of promoting our name and the work that we do.
"All the staff in Scotland deserve credit but a special mention to Ruth who worked tirelessly to ensure the weekend went well. Every game in the Scottish Leagues, the Ladies Premiership games and many Junior games were involved and it was thanks to Ruth that they had all the resources they needed.
"The FOA in Scotland and Wales continues to be a hugely successful way of highlighting all the good things we do and long may it continue.
"Many many thanks must go to Colin and all at Dundee United for making the day so special and on a personal note the day was made complete when Hearts won the game 1-0!"
