SRtRC went to Germany from the 31/5/15 to the 8/6/15 in order to work with young people in MOD schools in Germany
Just a quick word of thanks to you and the three guys for this week. The kids are still talking about Wednesday today – a sign of a successful day.
Michelle Strong - Headteacher at Gloucester School
Show Racism the Red Card was in Germany last week for a series of workshops funded by the Ministry of Defence. Osei Sankofa, Lionel Morgan and Francis Duku will be visiting 6 schools in the Bergen and Sennelager regions of Germany, accompanied by Southern regional manager Steve Goodsell. They worked with young people who live on the MOD bases, from years 3 to 9, in order to make sure that they are prepared to make the move back to the UK. We visited Shackleton School on Monday in Bergan and finished in Sennelager at William Wordsworth School.
It was a brilliant opportunity to work with the children of our countries service personnel, and we hope to have really made a difference in their lives, and helped them adjust to life in the UK. We have received great feedback from Lynn who helped arrange the work saying that 'SRtRC was fantastic last week. All the other schools have contacted me to say how good it was.'
Thanks to the MOD for funding this work, and to the teacher at the schools who have been so helpful.
