Overview of educational work delivered by SRtRC Education teams
Show Racism the Red Card (England) carried out educational workshops throughout England during November, delivered by the Education teams in the North-East and South-East.
Throughout November, the SRtRC (England) Education teams worked to collectively deliver positive and productive workshops and events across England:
172 hours of workshop activities, excluding assemblies and fun fitness sessions
2,595 pupils participated
24 Primary Schools
1 Secondary School
In the North East, the Education team delivered 20 workshops to schools across the region. 763 students were engaged by the team, who delivered 40 hours of workshop activities, in 9 Primary schools.
The North East team also held Council Chamber events in Gatehead and North Tyneside which engaged a further 150 students.
The North East education team received a fantastic award for all the successful work they do in the local community. The prize was for ‘Outstanding Anti-Bullying Work’ from South Tyneside Council. The team was absolutely thrilled to have won this award in recognition of the work they do in the South Tyneside area.

In the Southern region, the Education team delivered 68 workshops which engaged a total of 1,832 students. The team delivered a whopping 132 hours of workshop activities, in 15 Primary schools and 1 Secondary school.
Also, during November the South East team provided Teacher Training which aimed to empower teachers by improving assurance and understanding so they can effectively deal with racism in the classroom and in society. The training took place in Southend on Sea at the start of November and engaged a total of 40 qualified teachers.
The team attended the NUT Black Teachers’ Conference at Stoke Rochford Hall in Grantham, Lincolnshire. The conference allows black NUT members to discuss and address topics such as race equality, education and the workplace.
