After 2 weeks of hard work Temple Hill students and teachers help raise money for Show Racism the Red Card
The workshops and fitness sessions went fantastic! There was great feedback from all the children and staff who really enjoyed their day! We will be sure to use you again in the near future if we ever need the same workshops again.
Charlie McCarthy - Teacher at Temple Hill Community Primary School and Nursery
In July Show Racism the Red Card visited Temple Hill Community Primary School and Nursery in Kent to deliver our workshops. The day was really well received by students and staff alike, with the organiser for the day, Charlie McCarthy saying that “The workshops and fitness sessions were fantastic! There was great feedback from all the children and staff”. We were in as part of the school’s ‘World Cup Fortnight’ run by Charlie McCarthy and Vicky Climpson over two weeks leading up to the summer holidays.
The students had lots of workshops to learn from and lots of lessons based on football and sports all over the world.
On the last day of the 2 week event (11th July 2014), the school finished the ‘World Cup Fortnight’ by holding a school fair on the field with lots of fun activities, and have each year group prepare a fundraiser.
The students could sell anything they wished, or have a gazebo where they could put on any activity they wanted – year 5 offered services of the hairdressing variety!
At the end of the day all the money raised was collected and the school decided to donate it to Show Racism the Red Card and we will use this for staff training and towards developing new resources.
Thank you Temple Hill School for all your hard work!
