Trainee teachers receive our anti-racism training
An excellent chance to further develop my skills in dealing with racism.
Team Wales were on the road again, this time in Aberystwyth and Bangor. As part of our on-going partnership with NUT Cymru, we were delighted to deliver our anti-racism training to students on the PGCE courses at both Aberystwyth and Bangor Universities. The training was delivered to over 100 trainee teachers on both courses. As well as the training, the students all receive a USB with all our resources on which they can then refer to and use once they are working in schools. The students were just about to complete their course and a number of students commented how invaluable the resources will be. The Bangor Conference was also joined by out-going NUT President, Beth Davies, who wished the students well in their future careers and highlighted the need for embedding equality in every classroom.
We have now completed all of our Initial Teacher Training conferences across Wales and have delivered to 7 teacher training courses and over 600 trainee teachers throughout Wales as of the end of the 2013/14 academic year. We are very grateful to NUT Cymru for supporting this much needed training.
