BBC Essex interviews students and SRtRC educators
The workshop sessions were expertly delivered.....and the students benefited hugely from taking part in the discussions around racism
Following the recent opening of a new office for Show Racism the Red Card in Southend, Essex, we received a great opportunity to present some of our inspirational workshops, to the students of Colchester Academy.
Osei Sankofa, Clint Easton, Steven Kabba and Luther Blissett were in attendance working with the eager students, as was regional manager Steve Goodsell. Along with the regular thought provoking workshops and fitness delivered by Show Racism the Red Card, there was the added excitement caused by Ben Fryer from BBC Sport Radio who was visiting the school to discuss the day with students, staff at the school and our educators.

Andrew Robinson, the assistant principle at the school, helped arrange the day. He said “I was very pleased – the four guys that came were fantastic. I thought that the workshop sessions were expertly delivered by both Clint and Osei. Both were very good teachers and the students benefited hugely from taking part in the discussions around racism’
Steve Goodsell, Regional Manager added “Show Racism the Red Card have been looking forward to delivering workshops in Essex, a county with a diverse population, which has challenges and opportunities for better education around racism just as all Counties do. We have many more workshops and events planned and call upon any potential partner organisations or sponsors to get in touch. My thanks go to Colchester Academy for inviting us to speak with their students, all of whom being a credit to the school’
