Show Racism the Red Card is delighted to announce the continuation of one of our longest running partnerships with Inverclyde Council to deliver anti racism workshops within primary schools………
Our ongoing partnership with Show Racism the Red Card contributes positively to young people’s knowledge of the issues of racism and sectarianism. It is always well received by our schools and very much appreciated by our young people and the communities in which they live.
Palma Allan, Quality Improvement Officer, Inverclyde Council
This partnership will see the Show Racism the Red Card Community Education team and current and ex-professional football coaches visiting Inverclyde’s primary schools and delivering important educational workshops on recognizing and challenging racism and prejudice.
Dee Matthew, Education Coordinator for Show Racism the Red Card in Scotland said “we are truly excited to be working in Partnership with Inverclyde Council again for the 7th consecutive year and within our tenth anniversary year of having a dedicated office in Scotland. We know that schools are supported by the local authority to strongly promote equality and diversity, however the dangers of racism are significant and education is vital in order to ensure our children can recognise this and other forms of discrimination and be equipped to safely challenge them as they grow and develop”.
