Former Newcastle United legend and Show Racism the Red Card education worker Olivier Bernard will be representing Team Caribbean in a charity football match.
The match is being organised by The Jason Roberts Foundation, established in 2007 by Reading striker Jason Roberts, and The Sodje Sports Foundation; a sports development charity working in England and Nigeria, set up by brothers Stephen and Bright Sodje.
Two star-studded squads of footballing legends and high-profile celebrities from the Caribbean, Africa and England will compete in an electrifying football match.
Some of the proceeds raised will go to the Damilola Taylor Trust, Daniel De-Gale African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust, and Brentford Football Club’s chosen charity.
Joining Olivier in representing Team Caribbean are Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) supporters Paul Davis, Paul Canoville and DJ Campbell, as well ex professionals Paul Merson, Andrew Cole and Jason Euell.
Team Africa will feature SRtRC supporters Vincent Pericard and Stephen Sodje, along with other members of the Sodje family. Also playing will be former Nigeria international and Bolton Wanderers legend Jay Jay Okacha and celebrities MC Harvey (So Solid Crew) and Ashley Banjo of break dance group Diversity.
The match will take place on Monday 27th May at Brentford F.C’s Griffin Park. Doors will open from 12:00 with the game kicking off formerly at 15:00.
