The Welsh campaign team visited The Chippenham Sports Ground to educate young people from Raglan primary school and to hold the first ever event with the club.
The young people took part in our workshop delivered by former professional players Christian Roberts and Steve Jenkins.
The young people took part in interactive activities learning about the topic of racism in football and society.
During the workshop the young people took the chance to make additional notes adding to the research they had done prior to the event to aid in the production of their newspaper articles they will be writing when back at school after the event.
The pupils were well prepared for their role play opportunity for the question and answer session and had come up with some creative names for their newspapers along with their questions for the special guest.
The young people posed questions on racism in football and society to the panel that included Steve and Christian who were joined by Monmouth Town Honouree President, renowned sports presenter and SRtRC Patron Lisa Rogers who faced some tough intelligent questions.
The best asked questions on the day won Monmouth Town FC signed balls and a SRtRC goodie bag.
We will be continuing to work with the club and will be working with the club to hold an event again next season.
We would like to thank the school for attending the event and the club along with Lisa Rogers for supporting the day.
This event was funded by the FAW, the Big Lottery Wales and the Welsh Government.
