We held a club event at The Genquip Stadium with PTFC
Young people from St Theresa's Catholic Primary School Attended the stadium for our annual club event with Port Talbot Town FC.
Former professional player Christian Roberts and Education Worker Chris Stokes delivered a educational workshop to the young people based on the topic of racism in football and society.
One of the interactive activities saw pupils up on their feet where statements were read out by Chris and the pupils had to choose whether the statement related to Christianity or Islam, the pupils then had to go and stand by either religion which where on opposite sides of the room. Many of the pupils stood by Christianity for all the statements and who intrigued to discover the statements related to both religions.
During their lunch break the young people were fortunate to have a tour of the Genquip stadium, which included walking out of the tunnel into the dugout.
After watching the SRtRC DVD the pupils took on the role of newspaper journalists and had the opportunity to ask questions to first team player Lee John.
The best asked questions received a SRtRC goodie bags and Port Talbot Town FC merchandise.
All the pupils also received match tickets for a up coming PTFC Welsh Premier League match.
Each pupil had a SRtRC Port Talbot Town FC signed poster.
We would like to thank Port Talbot Town FC for hosting the event, Lee John and the school for attending.
