NUFC manager talks about the importance of dealing with racism
Following John Terry's four match ban and £220,000 fine for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, the Press Association Sports Staff presents a round-up of responses from Premier League managers as we await the full report from the FA.
As reported in Sporting Life, Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew, a patron of Show Racism the Red Card said: "I am not party to all the information, but the games, the fine - you do want to see consistency in that area.
"That's something that I think needs to be looked at, and I hope the FA do that going forward because if it does happen again, it should be a severe fine if somebody is guilty."
He added: "You can't just wash it away or bury your head in the sand about it. You have got to deal with it.
"Show Racism the Red Card and those groups need to stay on their toes and make sure we eradicate it."
Alan Pardew features in Show Racism the Red Card's new educational DVD, due to be released later this year. You can view his interview footage on our YouTube channel.
