SRtRC is proud to announce new honorary patrons in support of our anti-racism message
Over our 15 year history, Show Racism the Red Card has worked to establish relationships not only with footballing role models, but also with actors, comedians, musicians, film directors, and stars of other sports.
We are delighted to present 'Writers Against Racism', a new group of creative artists publicly supporting our campaign. These new patrons of the campaign's work demonstrate the growing support across all sections of society for our charity.
Our first 'Writers Against Racism' honorary patrons are: William McIlvanney, Gary Younge, Mark Steel, Jimmy McGovern, Lynn Huggins-Cooper, Rowena Sommerville, Marina Hyde, Ronan Bennett and Paul Laverty. These writers have pledged themselves to the cause, and we hope to build up a substantial number of writers who will join these patrons, and in doing so, support our anti-racism work.
Show Racism the Red Card’s central aim is to combat racism not just in football, but in society. We hope that by broadening our connections beyond the world of football, we can be even more successful in fulfilling this aim.
