The Department for Education sends a message of support to Show Racism the Red Card
The Department recognises the excellent work of Show Racism the Red Card in educating people against racism in all its manifestations, particularly the way in which the charity uses football to engage young people with anti-racist messages. Building stronger, more integrated communities is a central part of the Government's vision for a united society and educating against racism is key in achieving this.
I would like to thank you for sending me copies of the films and education packs produced by the charity. In particular, the featuring of young people discussing ignorance and bigotry in the films is a very informative and powerful way of raising awareness of racist attitudes and how it can affect young people.
I wish you the very best in your endeavours to promote your work and campaign for educating against racism, and congratulate you on the achievements made by the charity so far.
With best wishes
Nick Gibb MP
Minister of State for Schools
