New members of staff have joined the offices in England, Scotland and Wales over the past couple of weeks, boosting the capacity of the campaign to deliver anti-racist education throughout the UK
In the North East we are proud to announce that Middlesbrough FC legend Curtis Fleming has become our fourth football coach. Curtis will be going into schools alongside our Community Education team delivering football fitness sessions to accompany the anti-racist workshops delivered in classrooms.
In Scotland we have been joined by Elio Ajmone and Atta Yaqub, in the positions of Project Manager: Religious Intolerance in Scottish Football and Education Worker respectively.
Elio takes up this newly created post thanks to funding from the Scottish Government and with the full support of Rangers and Celtic football clubs.
Atta begins his employment at SRtRC having already appeared in our latest educational film, Islamophobia, in his capacity as founder of the sports organisation Glasgow Ansar (All Nations Sports and Recreation). He has also appeared in a number of film and TV projects, notably playing the lead role in the film Ae Fond Kiss by acclaimed director Ken Loach.
Last but not least we have recruited Damon Ali as Information & Support Worker in Cardiff, where he will play a vital role in enabling the team to undertake an ever increasing amount of educational anti racist work throughout Wales.
Further vacancies are currently open in both our North East and South East offices.
