Show Racism the Red Card has produced brand new guidance for Initial Teacher Trainers. It is endorsed by both the NUT and NASUWT is available to download here. The resource has been designed to be an accessible guide, packed with advice and activities that will help institutions to prepare student teachers to tackle racism and promote equality in the classroom.
In addition to this resource Show Racism the Red Card has funding up until the end of March 2011 to visit institutions free of charge and work directly with student teachers. We can deliver tailored sessions which explore issues such as:
- The Barriers to Tackling Racism and Promoting Race Equality in Schools
- Embedding Race Equality across the curriculum
- Responding to Racist Incidents
- Educating Young People against Racism
Sample Feedback:
“The facilitators were very professional and knowledgeable – they were able to respond to a range or questions from a group of people with varying experience. I phoned the team several weeks after the event for some support on a session I was delivering and they responded very quickly and positively.”
“This training has developed my own awareness and has inspired me to deliver this message to others”
“A superb day – the most informative and useful course I’ve been on for a long time”
