Our Creative Competition in Wales is an extremely useful way of encouraging young peoples’ interest in anti-racism and provides an opportunity for pupils to express their feelings about racism and showcase their work.
Last year saw over 7,000 pupils of different ages taking part in the competition, with the most final entries we have ever had of anti-racism themed artwork being submitted to our judging day.
The Awards Ceremony took place at the Marriott Hotel in Cardiff and all the lucky winners from across Wales attended a formal lunch before receiving their awards. Prizes included kindles, Amazon vouchers, trophies, a SRtRC goody bag and a framed certificate. Guests were also treated to some fantastic entertainment including a circus workshop and dance performance.
The overall winner was Tahmina Uddin from Newport, who was also the winner in the 2018 competition.
This year’s competition is set to be bigger than ever! Our special category focus this year tasks pupils to create an anti-racism advert for the campaign to use on social media.
Registration is FREE and can be completed by simply filling out the registration form in the guidelines pack or by registering via our competitions page.
Please take the time to read the guidelines which includes a brief for each category and ensure any artwork is submitted with an entry label by 8th March 2019.
