Show Racism the Red Card host fringe meeting at the UNISON 2018 National Delegate Conference

From Tuesday 19th June to Friday 22nd June, UNISON will host their annual National Delegates Conference which will take place in Brighton. Show Racism the Red Card will be hosting a fringe meting on Tuesday 19th June, from 12:45 - 13:45 in the Syndicate  Room 2, First Floor, of the Brighton Centre. 

The speakers will include Clare Williams (Regional Secretary, UNISON Northern), Stephen Cavalier (CEO, Thompsons Solicitors), Roger McKenzie (Assistant General Secretary, UNISON), Kevin Maguire (Political Editor, The Mirror), Luther Blissett (Former England International) and Elizabeth Cameron (NEC Black Member, UNISON).

Show Racism the Red Card Chief Executive, Ged Grebby, said;

“UNISON were the first Trade Union to back Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) back in 1996 and have been instrumental in our development ever since. 23 years later racism is still a massive problem within the workplace with over half of employees having witnessed racism at work according to a report by People Management : https://www.peoplemanagement.co.uk/news/articles/half-employees-witnessed-racism-work 

SRtRC are holding a meeting at UNISON conference on Tuesday 19th June to discuss how we work more closely with the union on challenging racism in society, and in particular, the workplace.”
