School Competition 2018 (England) - Overall Winner

The Overall Winner of the SRtRC School Competition 2018 (England) was announced at the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 24th April, at Stoke City FC.

Manahil Masood, from Bolton School Girls' Division, was awarded Overall Winner for her moving artwork, which also won the Year 7-9 artwork category.

SRtRC talked to Manahil about her artwork and how she put her idea together.

Tess Felton, one of the Bolton School Girls' Division Art teachers, said, "The Art Department is extremely proud of Manahil and congratulates her on her phenomenal achievement. Her placement was well deserved. The organisation were bowled over by the power and creative quality of her entry."

Ged Grebby, SRtRC, Chief Executive, said "Congratulations to Manahil from all at Show Racism the Red Card on her achievement. The judges thought that her artwork was really high quality, creative and had a strong anti-racism message. We look forward to making Manahil's entry a focal point of the SRtRC 2019 calendar and making sure as many people as possible get to see it."

Alongside Manahil's artwork, the SRtRC calendar will feature other winning entries from the 2018 School Competition. Manahil won an I-Pad for being awarded Overall Winner and received a Manchester United shirt and tour of Old Trafford.
