Also speaking at the meeting was SRtRC Wales Campaign Manager, Sunil Patel, who was joined by Labour MP for North West Durham, Laura Pidcock MP, who spoke in support of the campaign.
Ged Grebby, Chief Executive of Show Racism the Red Card, said;
“Show Racism the Red Card are delighted to establish this All Party Parliamentary Group. At a time of rising racism across the UK we hope this group will be instrumental in bringing a positive anti-racism message both to MPs and the UK Government.”
Christopher Stephens MP, Member for Glasgow South West, said;
“I have been a consistent supporter of Show Racism the Red Card as a Trade Union activist, and was determined after my re-election to help set up an All Party group to raise awareness of this wonderful organisation that supports young people in our communities. Show Racism the Red Card works hard with the football community and young people to tackle the scourge of racism and bigotry in society, and I am delighted to be involved.”
Jo Stevens MP, Member for Cardiff Central, said;
“I’ve worked closely with Show Racism the Red Card for well over a decade and seen the impact that their unique work brings to schools, colleges and football clubs across the country. I’m delighted to Chair and launch our new All Party Parliamentary Group to raise the profile of their brilliant and critical work across the political spectrum.”
Show Racism the Red Card would like to thank all the MP's and guests who took time out of their day to attend the meeting. A massive thank you to all the speakers on the day for their continued support. And finally, a massive thank you to Jo Stevens MP and Christopher Stephens MP for all of their help in organising the APPG.
