Show Racism the Red Card is pleased to announce the venue for the SRtRC School Competition 2017 Awards Ceremony will be The King Stadium, home of Leicester City FC.
Leicester City FC has kindly agreed to host the event which is one of the highlights of the SRtRC calendar, on Wednesday 3th of May.
SRtRC Chief Executive, Geb Grebby said “It’s great to be at the home of Premier League Champions, Leicester City FC, for the 17th Award Ceremony of the annual School Competition.”
“Since 1996, the club have been fantastic supporters of our campaign and we look forward to hosting an amazing day for all the young price winners from across England. The club will make it a day to remember for all the young people involved.”
“I can’t wait to see this year’s entries; it’s always great to see the work about racism that young people throughout the Country have produced.”
SRtRC works in partnership with Leicester City FC and the Leicester City Community Trust to deliver an annual anti-racism education event for young people from local schools. In the past these events have been attended by Leicester City players, including Wes Morgan, Danny Simpson, Andy King and Ben Chilwell.
Leicester City FC and The King Stadium join a list of Awards Ceremony host venues through the years that includes The Boleyn Ground, Anfield, The Etihad Stadium, Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford, St James’s Park, Wembley Stadium, Villa Park and the Emirates Stadium.
Schools still have time until 31st of March to register and send in their entries for the competition.
Young people can produce anti-racism themed entries in any medium including artwork, creative-writing, film and music.
