We are currently in the process of developing an Ambassador program in Wales. This program will provide an opportunity for schools and young people across the country to sign up to show their support for anti-racism in Wales.
We are pleased to confirm that we have appointed Hannah Roberts as our Youth Ambassador Champion in Wales.
Hannah had been a victim of racist bullying in her school and made contact with our charity. This resulted in us attending the school and delivering our workshops.
Hannah was previously interviewed by SRtRC about her about her experiences of racism at school and the impact that our workshop had for her and the school. You can read her story from that interview HERE.
Hannah is now studying at the University of South Wales and in accepting the new role Hannah said: “I am honoured to be the Youth Ambassador Champion for Wales for Show Racism the Red Card.
Having experienced racism from a young age at school, I understand the effect it can have on young people and their education. I am looking forward to working with the campaign in supporting them to develop the young ambassador program and want to share my experiences and advice with young people across Wales.”
The Ambassador program will be launched in Wales ready for the next academic year. We are looking forward to seeing many schools and young people join us in challenging racism in Wales.
