Young Volunteers Empowerment Programme in partnership with Big Lottery Scotland

The Scottish team are thrilled to have delivered our Young Volunteers Empowerment Programme to young people from Govan Youth Information Project today thanks to Big Lottery Scotland.

Through our Young Volunteers Empowerment Programme which is delivered over 8 sessions, young people learn to develop and deliver their own prejudice reduction education.

This project increases young people’s agency, skills base, self-esteem, confidence and physical activity levels enabling them to become socially conscious citizen who will be equipped to go in to their communities and affect social change from within.

Moreover the current project will set young people on a path of positive destinations as they will gain future employability, further education and life skills due to the experience gained in developing and delivering prejudice reduction education.

Overall, young people take ownership of the education and the ‘highlighting inequality’ fun and fitness sessions and as a result feel part of an increasingly inclusive and cohesive environment.

Thanks so much to Big Lottery Scotland for making this project possible!
