We delivered our first teachers training conference of the academic year!
It’s been a busy summer period of campaigning for Show Racism the Red Card, with our schools report highlighting the importance of our work within education and the need for more support on a regional and national level.
Our first ‘Teachers of Tomorrow project’ funded by the National Union of Teachers took place at the University of South Wales, Newport Campus yesterday. Our revised workshop gives the teachers of tomorrow a chance to learn about current issues within anti-racism today, such as: Immigration, terminology, dealing with racism and given practical resources to use within the classroom. The workshop aims to equip the teachers to be able to deal with racism in school and challenge stereotypes and misconceptions using a whole school approach.

We would like to thank the NUT for their support for this project that has enabled us to deliver to hundreds of student teachers in Wales.
