A 37 year old man has been arrested for racially aggravated assault. CCTV footage showed a man verbally abusing a 34 year old woman while out shopping.
The woman ignored the abuser who followed her to her car and subjected her to a violent assault, repeatedly kicking her.
A 40 year old man was also hit with a bag of ice and a bottle. Both were taken to hospital, but unfortunately the doctors could not save the woman’s child.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson, PC Richard Armitage said "This racially aggravated assault had absolutely devastating consequences for the victim, who lost her baby as a result of the attack.
"Our thoughts are with her and her family at this incredibly difficult and sad time."
Both victims have now been released from hospital.

These violent incidents are incredibly disturbing and demonstrate that if hatred and prejudices are allowed to develop without challenge, they can escalate into unprovoked attacks and dangerous behaviours.
